BVB have started the season off very well. After hammering Augsburg 5-1 on opening Dortmund now have their first away game against Köln. Köln lost their season opener 2-1 to Wolfsburg. In his pregame presser Favre indicated the whole team is fit for the match aside from Mateu Morey.

Dortmund’s lineup will probably be mostly a run back of last weeks lineup. With Burki reportedly being healthy again he should take Hitz spot. A backline of Piz-Akanji-Hummels-Schulz worked well enough last weekend. Weigl-Witsel as a midfield tandem with Thorgan-Reus-Sancho in front will probably be the case again. The one major difference there could be Brandt, who may fill in for either Weigl or Thorgan. Brandt looked great in his debut last weekend, I am excited to see how he fits into the team. Given that Thorgan had a rough game maybe its best to use him as a sub for this game as he takes time to acclimate with the squad better. Upfront it will be Paco. With two goals in his debut, Paco looks like he is going to recapture his finishing magic from last season.

Köln probably have some soul searching to do after their week 1 loss to Wolfsburg, Their lone goal came in 90+1 minute from bench player Simon Terodde. Köln’s squad controlled the majority of the possession and had 2/11 shots on target. They also earned themselves an impressive three yellow cards. Even thought they struggled they still pose a threat for BVB. Like Augsburg they will sit back and hope to get the ball to their striker Anthony Modeste. Modeste is a very good player still, he can outpace both Hummels and Akanji, and can shoot well outside and inside the box.Another player we need to worry about is Jonas Hector. Hector surprisingly didn’t go to a major team this past summer. Hector will be a menace on the left both on and of the ball.

The game plan shouldn't be to different this week for Favre. We are the better team and we will control the match. Controlling the break and getting good shot opportunities are the keys to the game.

How do you think BVB should lineup?
