We all saw this coming. BVB have officially announced that Andre Schurrle will be loaned to Spartak Moscow for the 2019-20 season.

After spending last season on loan with Fulham it was unlikely Schurrle would ever play for BVB again. Since BVB couldn't find a suitor to buy him off us a loan is the best option for all parties. Andre Schurrle was BVBs record transfer at 30 million Euros in 2016. The man who helped Gotze score the winning goal of the World Cup never found his footing at BVB. Unfortunately “never found his footing” was quite literal most of the time as his first touch was generally awful. However he never made a fuss of being benched or going on loan to Fulham. He’s a class act and should bring some veteran leadership to Spartak Moscow. Schurrle is still only 28, an age where many players are at their peak. He could still make a comeback. Until then, he will probably spend the rest of his contract time at BVB on loan.
Good luck Andre!
