Alexander Nübel burst onto the scene last season when he was one of the only positives for Schalke 04. However BVB’s rival might not get to enjoy watching Nübel in their goal for very long, the goalkeeper has an expiring contract and it does look increasingly likely that he won’t extend his contract. This means one of the best young German goalkeepers could be available for free next summer, that obviously makes him an interesting player for many top teams.
Dortmund has now reportedly joined Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig as one of the clubs who would like to sign him. Even though Roman Bürki improved last season Bild still claims that there are doubts about the Swiss goalkeeper, adding Nübel could give BVB two excellent options at the position.
BVB’s injury crisis is starting early this season.
Lucien Favre confirmed that Julian Brandt will definitely be out for the Supercup on Saturday against Bayern Munich. The midfielder still has muscle problems and Dortmund don’t want to risk a more serious injury.
In addition it Thorgan Hazard, who is still doing individual training sessions, and Roman Bürki are also questionable for the game.
Mateu Morey and Jacob Bruun Larsen’s status is still unclear after both players suffered injuries during yesterdays friendly. Morey fell on his shoulder and had to be subbed off and Bruun Larsen was seen with a bandaged ankle after the game.
Meanwhile Marius Wolf didn’t play at all yesterday but was able to practice again and might be able to play in the first Klassiker of the season.
According to Sky Sport News André Schürrle has traveled to Moscow for his medical ahead of a loan move to Spartak Moscow. The winger will join Spartak on loan for one year with an option to buy for 7€ million.
