- Sergio Gomez through to U19 Euro final
Most of the BVB squad is at training but we still do have one player out on international assignment. Sergio Gomez has been playing for the Spanish U19 squad in the U19 Euro Championships. He is now in the finals after Spain defeated France on pens in the semi-finals. Gomez was subbed out before the pens started so we have no highlight clip of him, but this is definitely a great morale boost for the 18 year old right before our season kicks off. The final is this Saturday at 12:30 PM ET and Portugal will be Spain's opponent.

- Team friendly ends in a tie
The BVB news is pretty light today as the team is deep in training and no reasonable transfer rumors have appeared. During the teams training we do know they played a scrimmage yesterday that ended 2-2.

I guess the most interesting thing here is that Gotze is still participating in training and seems to be in high spirits judging by his goal tally. With rumors abound about his contract and transfer situation every little piece of news about Gotze feels important. Personally I hope we keep him.
