Borussia Dortmund will extend their contract with supplier Puma and sign a 10-year extension worth 300€ million which will earn the club 30€ million per season. That would be about 20€ million more per season than the deal that is in place now.
In addition the new contract will start early, the old agreement was supposed to end in 2022 but the extension will already kick in in 2020. This will give the club new financial flexibility in the future.
During the summer transfer rumors usually pop up on a daily basis and sadly (or luckily depending on the rumor), most of them turn out to be false. Yesterday we witnessed the curious case of one of those rumors popping up and being denied within mere hours.
Several outlets claimed Eintracht Frankfurt was interested in André Schürrle and even that the BVB-winger was already in Frankfurt. However Schürrle’s agent was quick to dismiss those rumors to kicker:
“There are no talks with Eintracht Frankfurt André trained in Berlin today, he was not in Frankfurt at least”
Schürrle is still looking for a new club but it looks like that it won’t be Frankfurt.
Jadon Sancho has talked about his incredibly successful first season with BVB and the expectations for the next. The young winger wants to improve and stay on top:
“It’s crazy what’s happened because I’m still only 19 and things like that usually happen when you’re 23 or 24. Now it’s about keeping that level. People are waiting for me to dip so they can say I’m a one-hit wonder. I just need to keep playing and hope I stay clear of injuries. I just have to keep working hard and helping the team. That’s the main thing.”
- Matchday!
BVB will play their first friendly of their US-tour against Seattle Sounders at CenturyLink Field. Lucien Favre will have more possibilities than in the first friendly against FC Schweinberg, the squad is nearly at full strength. It will be interesting to see how the team will line-up and the debuts of Brandt, Hazard and Schulz as well as the youth players Reyna and Pherai.
