At least one of the BVB center-backs still has to leave the club and it looks like it will be Abdou Diallo. The Frenchman that joined Dortmund just last summer is about to sign with PSG for 32€ million according to L’Equipe.

For Borussia Dortmund there are two sides to this potential transfer. Losing Diallo would certainly hurt to a degree, he’s currently the third best center-back on the team and provides versatility with his ability to play at left back. On the other hand BVB need to thin out their roster, 32€ million is fair compensation and there is still a lot of depth at the position with Zagadou, Toprak and Balerdi.

  • BVB start their USA-tour

The team travel to the USA today to start their pre-season tour. The tour will include two friendlies, one against the Seattle Sounders (July 17th) and against current Champions League winners FC Liverpool (July 19th) in South Bend, as well as several PR-appointments.

A few players will miss the tour, most notably Akanji and Schmelzer who will stay in Dortmund to rehab injuries and the trio of Diallo, Kagawa and Schürrle because of possible transfers. Two youth players, Gio Reyna and Immanuel Pherai, have joined the team on the trip and will get their first experience at the senior level.

  • BVB linked to Chalov (Daily Mirror)

British news outlet Daily Mirror name Borussia Dortmund as one of the interested clubs in Fedor Chalov. The 21-year-old striker scored 17 goals in 37 games across all competitions for CSKA last season. Several other clubs like Bayern Munich, FC Arsenal, both Manchester clubs, Tottenham Hotspur, AS Monaco and FC Sevilla are also being linked to Chalov.
