After a few weeks of speculation its official, fullback Jeremy Toljan will go out on loan to Seria A side Sassuolo. The 24 year old German right back joined BVB in 2017 right at the end of the summer window.

Alles Gute und viel Erfolg, Jeremy! pic.twitter.com/8wFH3RPaN2
He played 23 games for BVB in total, all in 17/18. He did not look ready for the Bundesliga in his first year and really only got playing time due to injuries. He was loaned to Celtic this past season and played well there. Celtic won the double with him as a member of the squad. Its good to see that BVB hasn't yet given up on him as we can still choose to get him back after the loan. Dortmund is far too deep this year to have a fullback project on the roster. Toljan has yet to receive a callup to the German national team despite playing for youth national teams and the German Olympic team. He is still eligible for the US National team and Croatian national team, but I wouldn’t hold your breath if you expect to see him there.
Good luck Jeremy!
