- New jersey numbers
Thanks to the BVB-fanshop we now know which numbers Dortmund’s new players will have for the upcoming season. Mahmoud Dahoud has changed his number from the 19 to the 8. Nico Schulz will wear the 14, Julian Brandt the 19 and Thorgan Hazard chose the 23 which is interesting because that used to be Shinji Kagawa’s number. The Japanese international has technically returned from his loan at Besiktas but this indicates that Kagawa will move on this summer.
In addition none of the players that were on loan last season like André Schürrle, Dzenis Burnic, Felix Passlack, Jeremy Toljan or Sebastian Rode are available. It’s likely that most if not all of them will leave this summer.
- FIFA Women’s World Cup
Brazil won 1:0 against Italy but the Italians still topped the group. Brazil finished in third place but will still advance to the next round because the four best third placed teams will still advance to the round of sixteen and Brazil’s six points in group C are enough to be one of those four teams.
History was also made during the game when Marta scored a penalty and he second goal of the tournament which brings her to 17 goals which made her the player with the most goals in World Cup history.

Australia won their game against Jamaica with 4:1 thanks to four goals from their star player Sam Kerr and have advanced to the next round.
Today Argentina face off against Japan and Argentina play Scotland in group D. England want to clinch first place in the group and Argentina hope to advance but they need to win their game and hope for a Japan loss.
- U21 Euros
Romania routed Croatia 4:1 in the first game in group C and England lost to France 1:2 in a wild game. France missed two penalty kicks and played with a one-man advantage for about 30 minutes but still needed two late goals to secure the three points.
Today the second matchday of the group stage kicks off with the duel between Spain and Belgium who are both under pressure because of their losses in their first matches. Furthermore Italy, who looked really good against Spain, will take on Poland. The winner of that match would already secure a place in the next round.
Despite VfB Stuttgart getting relegated they centerback duo of Benjamin Pavard and Ozan Kabak was still highly rated and could end up playing for Bayern Munich together next season.
Thanks to a 15€ million release clause the 19-year-old centerback could leave Stuttgart and join his former teammate in Munich which seems like a probable scenario according to TRT Spor. If Mats Hummels returns to Dortmund Kabak could replace him or at least provide depth at the position for the Bavarians.
Daily Buzz: It’s still very early in the summer but the BVB transfer business looks like it’s almost done already. With the current squad and assuming Mats Hummels does join Dortmund where would you see Dortmund compared to Bayern Munich for a possible title race next season?
Are Bayern still the clear favorites? What if BVB do get Gündogan back or what if Bayern sign Sané and/or Rodrigo?
