- Hummels - BVB and Bayern haven’t agreed yet
It was the biggest news of the past weekend, Borussia Dortmund are working on a return of Mats Hummels to the club. However the deal isn’t done just yet even though Dortmund and Hummels have reportedly already agreed on a contract but Bayern still wants more than the reported 20€ million that Dortmund have offered.
According to kicker Dortmund use the fact that Hummels is now almost 31 during negotiations and Bayern paid just 35€ million three years ago while Bayern Munich claim that the market is a lot different than three years ago and prices have gone up. This sounds like the usual negotiations tactics, in the end both clubs will likely find common ground.
Surprisingly it was Mats Hummels himself that asked for a move back to the black and yellows according to Ruhr Nachrichten. In Dortmund he would certainly be a sure starter that can hopefully stabilize the defense and help the young players develop.
- U17 lose final to Cologne
BVB’s U17 team have lost the final for the German championship with 2:3 against 1.FC Köln. The team went undefeated all season long but could not get it done in a wild final game of the season.
Dortmund were the better team throughout the match but individual mistakes on defense gave Cologne three easy goals that were enough to secure the win. The silver lining for BVB is the extremely talented team that they still have spearheaded by Youssoufa Moukoko who scored 50 goals in just 28 games this season.
Thank you to our U17’s who finished an incredible season filled with excitement and achievement, you all have much to be proud of
