Since Mahmoud Dahoud’s move from Gladbach to Dortmund in 2017 the central midfielder has never really been able to fill the creative void in BVB’s midfield. Lucien Favre prefered a Witsel/Delaney double pivot over the more offense focused Dahoud despite BVB’s problems to break down deep lying teams and many thought that would mark the end of Dahoud’s career in black and yellow.
However kicker now claims Borussia Dortmund still haven’t given up on him and hope for a breakthrough in year three. The club has put on ice any plans to acquire another “Gündogan-type” player (possibly also because Gündogan himself isn’t available for now) and look for Dahoud to fill that role. The first chance to prove that he has improved will be with the German national team at the U21 European championship this summer.
Borussia Dortmund is once again linked to Brazilian winger Pedrinho. The right winger is currently playing for Corinthians and has reportedly met with BVB officials to talk about a potential move. There were rumors about BVB’s interest the past summer but a transfer never materialized.
The report claims that there have been no negotiations with Corinthians just yet but that they would make an offer during the “next transfer window”. It’s unclear if that means that Dortmund plan to make an offer this summer or during the upcoming winter transfer window in January.
