- Union Berlin is in the Bundesliga
Union Berlin have been promoted to the Bundesliga thanks to their 0:0 draw against VfB Stuttgart at home after their 2:2 draw in Stuttgart a few days ago. They will be the 56th team in the Bundesliga history.
For VfB Stuttgart this caps of a horrendous season. They will now join HSV, Hannover 96 and 1.FC Nürnberg in the 2.Bundesliga which promises to be an incredible race for the promotion spots.

- Bundesliga transfers
SC Freiburg: Christian Streich’s team has signed Gian-Luca Itter from VfL Wolfsburg. The 20-year old left back had a release clause in his contract that allowed him to leave and he hopes this move can help his development.
Mainz 05: Mainz has signed left back Jonathan Meier from Bayern Munich’s academy. The club paid 1.2€ million for the young talented player and they hope he can eventually develop into a starter.
Schalke 04: Bernard Tekpetey has returned to Schalke after just one year with SC Paderborn. The young winger (21) was one of Paderborn’s best players in the 2.Bundesliga and played a big part in the clubs promotion to the Bundesliga. Paderborn did buy Tekpetey last year but Schalke had a buy-back clause that they activated now.
- BVB’s Champions League triumph
On this day 22 years ago Borussia Dortmund defeated Juventus 3:1 to win the Champions League! A historic day for BVB that hopefully can get repeated at some point in the future.
