Borussia Dortmund are looking for reinforcements in midfield for the summer and Maximilian Eggestein is reportedly on top of their list. Now Ruhr Nachrichten claims the black and yellows have contacted Eggestein to see if a transfer is possible.
The 22-year old midfielder had a breakout season in the Bundesliga and has been one of Werder Bremen’s best players. Despite the fact that his contract ends in 2020 and he has so far refused to sign a new deal, Bremen seems reluctant to sell him even f that means they would possibly lose him on a free transfer. They are reportedly asking for 30€ million for Eggestein.
Puma’s new deal with Manchester City has reset the market, the Premier League club will receive 65£ million per year from Puma starting next year and extending until 2029.
In comparison, BVB only get around 10€ million per year from Puma and the contract is running until 2022. However the clubs is looking to renegotiate the deal and bring the yearly payment up to 25€ million per year.
Daily Buzz: Maximilian Eggestein is a talented young German player but is he worth 30€ million? Would he be the reinforcement that Dortmund need?
