“I am very optimistic that we will have an even stronger team in the next year in terms of our current quality. This applies regardless of possible new entrants “
This a quote from Hans-Joachim Watzke to Sport Bild who have an extensive report about BVB’s supposed plans for next season. As always we need to take these with a grain of salt, the German outlet has been very speculative in recent weeks but still here are the main points from the report:
First of all Borussia Dortmund is supposedly looking to extend the contracts with Mario Götze (contract until 2020), Raphael Guerreiro (2020) and Jacob Bruun Larsen (2020). All three are in the future plans of the black and yellows.
Watzke also confirmed that BVB will not sell Jadon Sancho or Manuel Akanji this summer. There will likely be rumors surrounding those two all summer long but Dortmund have no reason to sell either of them this offseason.
Julian Weigl meanwhile will be a point of discussion in the coming weeks and months. BVB will listen to offers but Lucien Favre would prefer to keep the versatile midfielder/defender even though it is unlikely that he’ll be a starter going forward.
In addition three of the current BVB-players on loan, André Schürrle, Shinji Kagawa and Sebastian Rode will have no future at the club. Dortmund will look to sell them at the end of the season.
Dortmund will look to add at least one new fullback and a stricker this summer and one of the players they are scouting is new German national team player Lukas Klostermann. RB Leipzig’s young fullback would cost 30€ million.
The report also claims Davie Selke, Max Kruse, Julian Brandt and Sebastian Haller are not on BVB’s radar. Furthermore there is interest in Philipp Max but the 25€ million asking price is too much for Dortmund.
- Christian Pulisic and picks up an injury
The USMNT played a friendly against Chile which ended in a 1:1 draw. Christian Pulisic started for the US team and gave his team the lead in the 3rd minute, however Chile was able to equalize through Opazo just 5 minutes later.
There are some bad news though for Dortmund, Pulisic had to be subbed of in the 36th minute as a precautionary measure. We will have to wait to get a more detailed report about his status, it’s not yet clear if he’ll miss significant time.
¡¡GOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLL!! En solo 3 minutos, USA abre el marcador con un GOLAZO de Christian Pulisic@USMNT 1-0 @laRoja

Borussia Dortmund had to do without their starting right back for a few weeks now after Lukasz Piszczek picked up a heel-injury. There was still hope that he’ll be back in time for the crucial game against Bayern Munich next week but it seems like Lucien Favre will need to come up with another plan. Piszczek is still training individually and will likely not be ready to face the Bavarians.
Luckily for Dortmund Paco Alcacer, Axel Wistel and Mario Götze are back in training and will probably be ready to face Bayern.
