Recent rumors suggested Philipp Max was at the top of BVB’s list of fullbacks for this summer but a report from Augsburger Allgemeine will put an end to those rumors, for now at least. The outlet talked to Heiner Schuhmann, a scout of Borussia Dortmund who denied that the club is interested in him:
“To my knowledge, there is nothing to it, we have not observed Max for half a year, according to my information the interest is no longer there.”
Schuhmann acknowledged that the black and yellows were in fact interested in Max but that interest waned recently, the club is looking elsewhere for a new left back.
In what would be a shocking move, and quite honestly also a very unlikely one, Teamtalk report that Liverpool are not satisfied with Naby Keita’s performances and would be willing to sell him after just one season with the Reds. The central midfielder moved to Jürgen Klopp’s team this past summer for 50£ million but has not yet been able to repeat his standout performances from his days in Leipzig. According to the report both Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich have already held talks with Keita’s representatives.
- Germany defeats Netherlands
Die Mannschaft got their first win in the Euro-qualifying round against their toughest opponent in group C. Germany won 3:2 in the Netherlands thanks to a late winner from Nico Schulz which Marco Reus set up just minutes after he got subbed in.
BVB’s captain did not start because of problems with his thigh the past few days, it did not seem to bother him when he played but the black and yellows will need to monitor his situation to avoid an injury in the coming weeks.
Germany got an early 2:0 lead thanks to goals from Leroy Sané and Serge Gnabry but the Oranje were able to strike back in the second half with goals from Matthijs de Ligt and Memphis Depay.
Daily Buzz: So it’s not gonna be Philipp Max but who should BVB target for the left back position? And can Marius Wolf actually be Dortmund’s right back of the future?
