Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich are still level on points at 60 after their victories over Hertha BSC Berlin (3:2) and Mainz (6:0) respectively. It looks like the duel in Munich in a few weeks will be the deciding factor in the race for the title. BVB will likely have to win the game because Bayern are now also leading the goal differential +41 to +34 thanks in large part to two routs against Wolfsburg and Mainz.
RB Leipzig, Borussia Mönchengladbach and Eintracht Frankfurt are in a race for the Champions League spots.
RB Leipzig are currently in third place after their win against Schalke 04, the Royal Blues can’t get a win even after sacking Domenico Tedesco and replacing him with Schalke legend Huub Stevens. They are now just three points above VfB Stuttgart and the relegation zone.
Meanwhile Gladbach did not manage to win their home game against Freiburg (1:1), their lead shrank to just one point after Frankfurt’s 1:0 win on Sunday against Nürnberg.
Bayer Leverkusen lost an important game against Werder Bremen which means the Northern Germans closed the gap on Leverkusen for the last remaining international spot. Wolfsburg are also still in the race for 6th place, the wolves bounced back from their devastating loss to Bayern with a 5:2 win over Fortuna Düsseldorf.

Borussia Dortmund are still on the lookout for a new striker and max Kruse has been loosely mentioned as a player who could join the black and yellows. Kruse is an experienced player who could fit perfectly into Lucien Favre’s system and has an expiring contract. The striker is not yet sure whether to leave or extend his contract and it looks like Bremen playing in the Europa League next season would be a requirement for him:
“I’ve never said that Bremen is a bad place, but I also said that I’m not going to deal with the situation until we know what’s going to happen next year, because I have the ambition to play international. As long as that’s possible, of course, there’s nothing to stop us from talking about whether it’s going to continue here or not. “
Daily Buzz: Would Kruse be a good option for Dortmund or should they go for a different player?
