- Silly season
The season is far from over and the title is still one the line for Dortmund but the rumors for the upcoming transfer window are already heating up. As always some of them are more credible than others but here’s a roundup:
Bild: According to a report BVB are ready to spend 50€ million on two upcoming German players, Julian Brandt (Bayer Leverkusen) and Niklas Stark (Hertha BSC Berlin). Both have a 25€ million release clause in their current contracts and would be a bargain at that price so they could be interesting for BVB
Brandt has consistently been linked to Dortmund for years now and he would be a perfect replacement for Christian Pulisic and probably eventually for Marco Reus. The versatile offensive player has shown his potential in the Bundesliga this year but it will be difficult for Dortmund to convince him to join the black and yellows.
The Niklas Stark rumor is interesting, he’s a very good player who could develop into an elite centerback but spending big on yet another central defender would be very curious for BVB. Dortmund have incredible depth at the position and have just bought another young talent with Leonardo Balerdi. It’s unlikely they would be looking to add Stark unless another CB leaves this summer.
The Scottish Sun: BVB need at least one new fullback for next season and have found a new target according to a report from the Scottish Sun. While monitoring Jeremy Toljan who is on loan at Celtic, the BVB-scouts have apparently been impressed with Kieran Tierney. The 21-year-old Scottish left back has developed into one of the best young fullbacks in Europe and would be a solid addition for Dortmund. However the black and yellows are naturally not the only interested club, Arsenal as well as Leicester City with his former coach Brendan Rodgers are also said to be interested.
De Telegraaf: Yet another winger linked to BVB. Dutch media report that Dortmund is one of the clubs interested in Steven Bergwijn from PSV Eindhoven, the list includes Liverpool, Tottenham, Manchester United, Bayern München, Inter Mailand and Dortmund. PSV Eindhoven would reportedly ask for more than 35€ million this summer.
This is not that surprising, Bergwijn has impressed this season with 12 goals and 13 assists in 32 games for PSV. Most major clubs in Europe have probably scouted the winger this season and it wouldn’t be shocking if BVB is among them, nevertheless it seems that Dortmund have other plans at the position so far.
- Zorc claims Sancho will stay in Dortmund
Several rumors about Manchetser United making an offer for Jadon Sancho this summer are making the rounds but BVB’s sporting director Michael Zorc has reiterated that the youngster is not for sale.
Zorc: "Jadon (#Sancho) will play for Borussia #Dortmund next season. We are definitely planning with him. I'm also aware that the efforts - especially of the English clubs - to sign him will be stronger and stronger if he continues to play like that". #bvb (Sport Bild)

Although Zorc did admit that Sancho will leave the club at some point: “He will certainly not play in Dortmund until the end of his career. That is also part of the truth.”
Daily Buzz: Brandt, Stark, Tierney and Bergwijn - which one would be a good fit and is actually realistic for Dortmund?
