BVB Match Recap: Dortmund tie Hoffenheim 3-3

Embarrassing stuff from BVB. Dortmund tie Hoffenheim 3-3 on Saturday after bottling a 3 goal lead. We now only have 50 points, and if Bayern win a 5 point lead on the table, Dortmunds goals came from Sancho, Gotze and Raph.

The first half went all Dortmunds way. Jadon Sancho clowned TSG all half. It was insane watching him go where he please. Jadon’s first goal was ruled offside due to Gotze interfering from the offside position, but it wouldn’t take long for Sancho to get there again. His first actual goal was a beauty, after laying it off to Piz he made a run in the box and scored and a tight angle with ease. Dortmund did not let up after the goal and kept the pressure on Hoffenheim. While Burki was forced to make one big sub, Hoffenheim couldn’t string a idea together. Our second goal was Gotze scoring the rebound off a Sancho shot.

The second half went much worse for BVB. They let Hoffenheim find their footing and get back into it. Dortmund scored the first goal of the second half, one of their best of the year. Raph, Sancho and Gotze combined for a running set that Raph finished. After this goal however, Dortmund just gave up. In the final 15 minutes Dortmund blew their three goal lead. The first goal was a shocker from Hakimi who couldn't close down his man. The second goal wad Diallo failing to clear a ball. Not even sure where the third goal came from honestly.

Overall Dortmund had this game and gave it away. You can’t blame the flu on blowing a three goal lead. Nothing there would be different if Reus was playing or Favre on the touchline or Sancho fully fit.
