WAZ published an extensive article with BVB’s plans for next summer. According to the report Borussia Dortmund are looking for new players in almost positions.

Most importantly BVB are looking at the fullback position where the club definitely needs reinforcements. Next season will probably be Piszczek’s last season with the club, Schmelzer is also on the wrong side of 30 and has been a bit injury prone recently and Hakimi is just on loan for one more season.

One player BVB are looking at is Marc Cucurella, the 20-year old left back has repeatedly been linked to Dortmund. He is currently playing for SD Eibar where he is on loan from Barcelona, Eibar does have an option to buy him but Barcelona have secured a buy-back which means they could take him back and possibly sell him on to BVB.

In addition Thorgan Hazard still remains the favorite as a winger to replace Christian Pulisic. In midfield the club is looking at a “Thiago-like” player, Mahmoud Dahoud who was supposed to fill that role has never been able to really break into the starting eleven. A new striker is also on the list, however it might not be a “breaker”, Favre prefers a quicker player who can link-up better with BVB’s other offensive players. The rumored Timo Werner will not be BVB’s new centre forward.

Marco Reus seems to be back but it seems that Lukasz Piszczek will miss Friday’s game against FC Augsburg. The right back has missed four games because of an unspecified foot injury and Michael Zorc has now confirmed to kicker that he’ll also be out for the next Bundesliga game. However BVB’s sporting director was not able to give an exact timetable for his return.

Borussia Dortmund is one of the clubs who continue to scout Dani Olmo. The 20-year old Spaniard is currently playing for Dinamo Zagreb and has impressed this season as an offensive midfielder. Olmo score 5 goals and 7 assists in 30 games across all competitions.

Olmo seems like a typical BVB-transfer, young and talented, perfect to develop into the next Dembélé or Sancho. Dortmund are however not the only club interested with almost every European club chasing the former Barcelona youth product. If BVB are seriously interested it would not be easy to convince him to join the black and yellows.
