- Champions League results
BVB had one of the worst performances of the season against Tottenham yesterday and are virtually out of the Champions League. However it was not the only game yesterday, reigning champions Real Madrid won 2:1 in Amsterdam to give themselves an excellent position to advance to the next round.
Benzema gave Real the lead in the 60th minute but Ajax fought back and Ziyech scored the equalizer in the 75th minute. However Real Madrid was still able to get the win with a late goal from Asensio.
The match also featured the first ever use of VAR in the Champions League when an Ajax goal was disallowed in the 38th minute because of a foul on the play.

- Europa League
The Europa League is also back and there are two Bundesliga teams remaining in the competition. Bayer Leverkusen have to take on FK Krasnodar and Eintracht Frankfurt travel to Donetsk to face Shakhtar. Two tough opponents but Leverkusen and Frankfurt should be considered favorites to advance.
