  • The Champions League is back!

After a break that lasted a couple months the Champions League is finally back, however we still have to wait until tomorrow until BVB take on Tottenham. Nevertheless we will get two interesting games today.

AS Roma host FC Porto in a fairly even match-up that should be close. The Italian club has some problems in the domestic Serie A, Roma is currently only in 6th place and are struggling a bit. Meanwhile Porto is in first place in Portugal entrenched in a title race with rivals Benfica and Sporting Braga.

In the second match of the day PSG will travel to Manchester to face a United team that is vastly different form the one that showed up in the group stage. ManU looked like a good draw a couple months back but since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over for José Mourinho the talented squad finally shows their potential and look lethal. Without Neymar and Cavani it could be argued that Manchester are actually the favorites to advance.

  • Injury problems for BVB

Borussia Dortmund will face Tottenham Hotspur with huge injury problems. We all knew Manuel Akanji would miss the game but now it’s confirmed that Marco Reus, Paco Alcacer, Julian Weigl and Lukasz Piszczek will also miss the game.

This is a huge blow for BVB on both ends of the pitch. It seems that Lucien Gavre has no choice but to play Mario Götze at striker now and can choose between Philipp, Pulisic and Dahoud to replace Reus. On defense the situation is even more dire, Hakimi will have to play at right back and Marcel Schmelzer will probably start at left back. In the center of the defense an out of form Diallo is the only player who is 100% healthy, Toprak, Zagadou and Balerdi are all with the team but all of them are coming back from injury.
