- Press conference notes
Favre and Zorc gave their customary pre-game pres conference this morning. Favre gave his updates on team injuries, confirming that Marco Reus would be ready for the game on Saturday. Max Phillip and Toprak are doubts for the game as they have yet to train fully with the team. Zagadou was confirmed out.
In addition the usual complementing the opposition statements we get during these pressers, Zorc had some interesting stuff to say about some of the players. Zorc hyped up Weigl, acknowledging that he had lost a spot that he used to be guaranteed in the team, but has excelled in his new role. He also complemented Raphael who he says has dealt well coming back from issues, and has been properly utilized under Favre.
- Zaha rumors heat up
After BILD reporting that BVB were looking to Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha for a summer transfer, the Gaurdian also apparently confirmed the report.
Borussia Dortmund are prepared to break their transfer record to sign Wilfried Zaha, according to the Guardian. Crystal Palace will demand upwards of £50m. #BVB #CPFC— Ronan Murphy (@swearimnotpaul) January 23, 2019
When I first saw this rumor I really thought it was nothing but the tabloids getting creative, but the Guardian is a solid source for footballing news. Now that doesn’t mean that its guaranteed BVB are to make an offer, but it certainly is more of a possibility. 50 million Euros would be a club record signing if we were to make it.
