And will Mislintat join Bayern?

Julian Weigl is a coveted player who has not gotten much playing time at BVB since Axel Witsel and Thomas Delaney arrived last summer. Rumors of a potential PSG move persist but it does not seem like Dortmund will let him walk now because of the current title race in the Bundesliga. This could change however come summer time.

If Weigl does leave after the season le10sport claim the club is already looking for his replacement and have contacted the agent of Stanislav Lobotka. The 24-year old midfielder is currently playing for Celta Vigo. Other clubs like PSG and Napoli are also said to be interested.

Borussia Dortmund have lost several of their stars to Bayern Munich in recent years, most notably Mario Götze (who is back now), Robert Lewandowski and Mats Hummels. According to Sport Bild Michael Zorc and Hans-Joachim Watzke have decided to not let that happen anymore. The outlet claims Pulisic was only granted an early exit under one condition, not joining the Bavarians.

While this does seem like a great idea it is somewhat questionable if it’s actually possible. If we take a closer look at the aforementioned names Dortmund never really wanted to let them join Bayern but they did not have a choice. Götze had a release clause, which Dortmund does not include in contracts anymore, Lewandowski left after his contract expired and Hummels only wanted to join Bayern so BVB did not have a choice. If Pulisic really would have wanted to join Bayern he could have just let his contract expire in 2020 and join them then.

The former BVB head of scouting who is credited with finding talents like Ousmane Dembélé and Raphael Guerreiro is reportedly on the verge of leaving Arsenal amidst rumors of him falling out with Unai Emery over player transfers. This isn’t the first time Mislintat has not agreed with his coach on player recruitment, he infamously clashed with Thomas Tuchel when he was in charge at BVB and Tuchel even banned Mislintat from visiting the training grounds. If he would leave Arsenal there’s a chance he could join Bayern Munich. The Bavarians are said to be interested in him.

Daily Buzz: Harry Kane is out for at least the first leg for the upcoming Champions League duel with BVB. While injuries are never a good thing and it certainly shouldn’t be cheered, it still severely weakens Tottenham. So is Dortmund now the clear favorite to advance?
