  • Matchday!

Today at 17.00h CET Borussia Dortmund will play their second friendly during the training camp against Feyenoord Rotterdam. The dutch club are currently in third place in the Eredivisie although with an already considerable point deficit compared to the top two, PSV Eindhoven and Ajax Amsterdam. Feyenoord’s most known player is former world class striker Robin van Persie who returned to his youth club last year after successful stints with Arsenal, Manchester United and Fenerbahce.

In addition BVB play another friendly against Willem II that will not be public however. Both games will be played with different starting line-ups.

  • BVB interested in Ziyech?

Earlier this month Euro United already claimed Hakim Ziyech would like to join BVB this transfer window. Now the outlet has doubled down on the rumor suggesting Dortmund would like to acquire the midfielder and would be open to loaning him back to Ajax Amsterdam for the rest of the season.

This is still an odd rumor considering that BVB have sufficient depth at Ziyech’s best positions, central offensive midfielder and winger, especially if Dortmund really plan on signing Thorgan Hazard in the summer. Nevertheless this outlet was also one of the first to report on Dortmund’s interest in Axel Witsel so it can’t be discounted completely.

Borussia Dortmund have reportedly agreed a deal with Boca Juniors to acquire Leonardo Balerdi for 16€ million. The young centerback will sign a 5-year contract until 2023 and will travel to Dortmund next week to complete his medical and finalize the deal.

This isn’t surprising considering the continuous rumors in recent weeks. The only question was if Balerdi would already join Dortmund now or wait until the summer to do so. Manuel Akanji’s still uncertain situation probably forced BVB’s hand a bit, Balerdi gives Lucien Favre another option for the upcoming title race in case Akanji does need surgery.
