  • Matchday!

Borussia Dortmund will play a friendly today at 19.00h CET against VfL Osnabrück. The match will be streamed on bvb.tv, Youtube and Facebook. It will probably be the debut of Paco Alcacer for BVB as well as a chance for players like Mario Götze and Shinji Kagawa to get some playing time.

According to Mundo Deportivo Borussia Dortmund is among the clubs interested in Ajax Amsterdam midfielder Frenkie de Jong. Barcelona, Tottenham, Roma, PSG and Manchester City are some of the other clubs mentioned in the report. The rumored transfer fee would be around 50€ million.

The 21-year-old de Jong is certainly an interesting player and BVB would be lucky to get him but this seems like random name dropping. Dortmund have already heavily invested in their central midfield with Delaney and Witsel and will probably have other priorities like fullback and striker (in case Alcacer doesn’t work out) in the coming transfer windows.

  • Diallo talks about BVB-fans and Favre (L’Equipe)

Abdou Diallo has talked to French outlet L’Equipe about his first months at BVB and why he joined the black and yellows.

Asked about his two biggest surprises he said: “The stadium. My ears hurt. It’s an incredible atmosphere. Also the coach, who cares about the details”. He continued talking about Favre and his methods: “You have to experience Lucien Favre in person. In the first week of training he talked to me about the positioning of my hands. I played when he looked at me and said ‘You play with clenched fists’. I hadn’t noticed. He said: ‘Your hands can help you with your balance and to cover the ball’.”

Diallo continued to praise his coach “Favre is special, he has a reputation in France and Germany. It’s difficult to say ‘No’ to him. When you talk to him you feel the passion for football, his expertise and his care for details.”

  • West Ham “sorry” to have bought Yarmolenko

Looks like things aren’t exactly going great for Yarmolenko with his new club...
