- BVB friendly vs VfL Osnabrück
Borussia Dortmund will play a friendly on Thursday 19.00h CET against VfL Osnabrück. Several BVB players are not called up for the upcoming national teams for various so some players like Shinji Kagawa and Mario Götze could show Lucien Favre that they deserve a place in the first eleven. Paco Alcacer could also debut for the black and yellows.

calciomercato.com report Borussia Dortmund had an agreement with Juventus for a transfer of Leonardo Spinazzola. The 25-year-old left back was on loan with Atalanta Bergamo last season and would have cost 25€ million, however the move fell through because Spinazzola got injured and BVB backed out.
It’s interesting that BVB went after a left back, indicating that they were probably ready to let Raphael Guerreiro go. Equally interesting is the fact that they didn’t go after another left back (Hakimi can play LB but is better at RB) once this move fell through.
- Bürki and Delaney cancel on national teams
It was a bit surprising to see both Roman Bürki (Switzerland) and Thomas Delaney (Denmark) not travel to their national teams for the upcoming international friendlies and now we know why.
Bürki has muscular problems with his thigh and had to cancel, the injury is nothing serious and he should be back once the Bundesliga resumes.
Thomas Delaney’s situation is a bit more odd. The Danish football federation, DBU, is currently in a dispute with it’s players and head coach Age Hareide because of advertising contracts. The players as well as the coach refuse to sign new contracts and are currently on strike. This could have serious repercussions if they don’t show up for their upcoming games the UEFA could sanction them. The worst case could be an exclusion form the European championships in 2020.
Daily Buzz: BVB need new fullbacks either in January or next summer, that much is clear. Who would you like BVB to sign?
