  • International break

10 BVB players will be with their national teams this international break. Notable omissions are Shinji Kagawa, Roman Bürki and Thomas Delaney. Christian Pulisic was also not called up to get some rest after his minor injury.

  • Shinji Kagawa stays

There were some rumors about a possible transfer of Shinji Kagawa but (thankfully) it never happened. The Japanese fan favorite is as of now still a player of Borussia Dortmund and will remain with the black and yellows at least until January. Nevertheless it will be hard for Kagawa to get some game time, Favre did not nominate him to BVB’s matchday squad for both Bundesliga games. Looking at BVB’s lack of creativity against Hannover he could potentially help in that regard.

  • Roman Weidenfeller farewell game

The legendary goalkeeper will get his farewell game this Friday and the rosters have been announced:

„BVB Allstars“: Addo, Amoroso, S. Bender, da Silva, de Beer, Dede, Degen, Evanilson, Ewerthon, Frei, Frings, Großkreutz, Heinrich, Kehl, Kirch, Koller, Kringe, Lehmann, Oliseh, Owomoyela, Piszczek, Ricken, Schieber, Schmelzer, Smolarek, Subotic, Tinga, Weidenfeller, Wörns, Zidan. Coach: Klopp

„Roman and Friends“: Ballack, Grammozis, Hengen, R. Kovac, Kramer, Lincoln, Lutz, Marschall, Mertesacker, Metzelder, Odonkor, Podolski, Ramzy, Reich, Riedl, Schjönberg, Strasser, Weidenfeller, Wiese. Coach: Stöger

Both squad consistent of mostly BVB players with some former Kaiserslautern and national team teammates mixed into them. It will be a fun game for Weidenfellers last appearance in the Signal Iduna Park.
