  • Post/pre game presser

Favre and Zorc gave their pre-game press conference for our game vs Bayer Leverkusen this weekend, a day after we won 7-0 against Nurnberg. About the game last night Zorc expressed his pleasure that so many young players played well, especially Real Madrid loanee Hakimi.

Favre injury updates include Toljan, Rode and Toprak still being hurt and Gotze being sick. All are not expected to be in the squad Saturday. As for Raph, the decision will be made tomorrow.

Among other interesting statements, Zorc talked about how it was hard to get Akanji last winter and since he has become a leader on the team. It’s true that Akanji has been our best center back and its good to know the organization is really happy with him.

  • Germany hosting Euro 2024

After lots of controversy it seems Germany will host Euro 2024. After much talk about Germany wanting to block a bid from Turkey it seems they have succeeded and will be hosting the major international tourney. As BVB have the second largest stadium in the country we will most likely be hosting a few games.
