The Daily Bee (August 31st, 2018): Sahin on his way to Bremen

According to Sky Nuri Sahin is in Bremen completing his medical ahead of a transfer to Werder. Sahin had only slim chances to play this season for BVB with the arrivals of Thomas Delaney and Axel Witsel. The Northern Germans could use Sahin’s experience on a relatively young roster and Dortmund let go of a player that would probably not have seen much game time anyway. This transfer could be a win for all parties involved.

Borussia Dortmund have confirmed that Nuri Sahin is not in BVB’s squad for the game today because of “talks with another club”.

  • Champions League draw

BVB have drawn Atletico Madrid, AS Monaco and Club Brugge in the group stage of the Champions League, a tough group but it could have been worse. The black and yellows will open at Brugge followed by two home games against Monaco and Atletico so BVB will have to hit the ground running if they want to advance. The good news: the last time Dortmund played Atletico was in 1996/97 when BVB won the Champions League.

  • Matchday!

Borussia Dortmund travel to Hannover today to kick-off the second matchday in the Bundesliga. Sadly Christian Pulisic (muscular problems), Paco Alcacer (just joined the club) and Shinji Kagawa (possible transfer) have not traveled with the team and won’t be available. Julian Weigl however made the trip and could be on the roster today.

Daily Buzz: No Pulisic and no Alcacer means Philipp will probably line-up at striker once again but who should get Pulisic’s spot, Sancho or Wolf?
