- Confusion about Alcacer-deal
BVB finally have their striker but the announcement came with some confusion because of a translation mistake in Barcelona’s statement. Their statement in English stated Barcelona had the right to deny BVB the option to sign Alcacer permanently. However that is not true, the deal is a one year loan and Dortmund have an option to sign him for 23€ million + 5€ million in variables. Barcelona would keep 5% of the transfer rights and have an option to match any offer if BVB sell Alcacer in the future but they cannot deny BVB’s option.
- Germany roster
Joachim Löw has nominated the German team for the upcoming games against France and Peru. Marco Reus is the only BVB-player on the roster, surprisingly Sami Khedira has been left out as. Thilo Kehrer, Nico Schulz and Kai Havertz are the newcomers on the team. In addition Thomas Schneider has been replaced as Jogi Löw’s assistant and will work as head of scouting for the DFB.

- Champions League playoffs
The last round of the Champions League playoffs will be played today. Yesterday AEK Athen, Young Boys Bern and Ajax Amsterdam qualified for the group stage. Today’s results could have some repercussions on the pot seeding, if Benfica can’t qualify Liverpool would move up into the second pot. This would certainly be good for BVB who would like to avoid Jürgen Klopp’s team in the group stage considering that the black and yellows will probably get a very strong team from pot 1.
