Borussia Dortmund’s summer long quest to find a striker seems to be finally over. According to Ruhr Nachrichten Paco Alacacer has arrived in Dortmund on Monday night at 20.49h CET. The Spaniard will complete his medical on Tuesday morning before the transfer will be made official.
Earlier today kicker, as well as several Spanish outlets had reported that BVB and FC Barcelona had agreed to a year long loan for a 2€ million fee with an option to buy for 26€ million at the end of the season. So far Alcacer has played for FC Getafe, FC Valencia and FC Barcelona, appearing in 199 games and scoring 62 goals.
This will mark the end of a summer long search for a suitable centre forward with countless names being linked to the black and yellows. In the end Michael Zorc will be happy to have signed Alcacer on loan for a year, it gives Dortmund a solid option at striker this season before being able to assess if they want to continue with the 24-year-old beyond this season. If Alcacer fails to impress, BVB will still have the option to look for another striker next summer.
