  • BVB-transfer update (kicker)

The transfer window is still open for a few more weeks and Michael Zorc has still some work to do. The squad is still too big with players like Toljan, Rode and Isak having very small chances at playing time and BVB would probably prefer to get their salaries of the books.

This could be a bit more difficult than expected, according to kicker Toljan prefers to stay in Dortmund even though he has virtually no chance to play for the first team. The same goes for Rode who prefers to stay with the black and yellows even though Sampdoria Genoa are interested in him. Meanwhile Alexander Isak is still not an option for Favre even though Dortmund clearly have a need at striker. All three of them weren’t even in the squad for the friendly against Lazio.

Over the weekend Gazzetta dello Sport claimed BVB are close to signing Moise Kean from Juventus, however kicker deny that Dortmund has made an offer just yet.

Anthony Modeste has recently terminated his contract with Tianjin Quanjian and is now a free agent who could possibly be interesting for Dortmund. The former 1.FC Köln striker has already made it clear that he would like to play for BVB.

In an interview with Sport1 the French centre forward said: “I would never say ‘no’ to the Bundesliga. But I have to wait on that, there is no interest from the Bundesliga at the moment”. He continued “A return to the Bundesliga would be perfect. [...] Borussia Dortmund would be very interesting. I could imagine that.”

Bayern Munich have won the Supercup with a 5-0 victory over reigning DFB Cup winner Eintracht Frankfurt. It was a dominating performance from the Bavarians over a Frankfurt team that has lost their coach Niko Kovac to Bayern and some of their key players from last season like Wolf, Boateng, Hradecky and Mascarell. Robert Lewandowski scored a hattrick to start of his season, Kingsley Coman and Thiago scored the other two goals.

Daily Buzz: Would you rather have Modeste (a more experienced striker) or one of the young talents like Moise Kean and Pedro at Dortmund?
