Report: Dortmund bid for CD Leganes Fullback Diego Rico

Dortmund are connected with Spanish fullback Diego Rico from CD Leganes. The 25 year old leftback has been at Leganes since 2016 and has only made 51 appearances. He is a little older then the standard Dortmund player from a smaller club, but fullback is a position Dortmund could always use depth at.

AS generally is not a great source so I wouldn’t put too much weight into this as of now. It seems like an odd fit. I do not watch Leganes so I’m not sure if this guy is a an actual baller or why he is connected to BVB, but people who do follow La Liga say he is nothing special. This rumor is probably just some flexing from his agent or Leganes to drive up his price.

If Dortmund were to sign a FB it would probably be to replace Jeremy Toljan if he left. Tolijan didn’t get enough of a fair shot for Dortmund this year, I would like to see how he plays for a manager who actually knows what he is doing.
