  • A new fullback for Dortmund?

Borussia Dortmund need help at both fullback positions and might have found one player who could help them on both fronts. Italian journalist Ciro Venerato told CalcioNapoli24 “Hakimi will join Dortmund, Napoli was informed about that yesterday”.

He is talking about Achraf Hakimi a 19-year-old fullback who is currently playing for Real Madrid and can play both left- and right-back. The Moroccan international who played all three games at the World Cup for his country appeared in 17 games for Real last season across all competitions scoring 2 goals and adding an assist.

In addition both kicker and Ruhr Nachrichten confirm Venerato’s claim saying that Hakimi will join Dortmund on loan.

According to rmcsport Lucien Favre wants to sign Hatem Ben Arfa. The 31-year-old will be a free agent in a few days when his contract with PSG runs out and BVB are offering him a 3-year deal. The winger didn’t play a single game for the French team last season because of differences with coach Unai Emery. Ben Arfa didn’t transfer and decided to sit out his contract. During the 16/17 season he played 32 games for PSG scoring 4 goals and adding 7 assists.

  • Nicolas Gonzalez

Borussia Dortmund might be one of several European clubs who are interested in Argentinian striker Nicolas Gonzalez. Cristian Malaspina, president of Argentinos Juniors who play in Argentine’s Primera Division confirmed that Gonzalez is in negotiations however he didn’t disclose the name of the club saying “I will not tell you the name of the club that is in advanced talks [with Gonzalez] but I can say that it’s a top-club from Germany”. That could be Dortmund who are looking to add a new striker and Gonzalez might fit their profile.

Daily Buzz: BVB still haven’t found their striker but they might not even need to add a new one because they could have the solution already on the roster. kicker mentions that the prices for strikers are exorbitant right now, Cavani would ask for a 14€ million salary (after taxes!) and Chelsea are reportedly asking 70€ million for Morata and Zorc is not willing to overpay for a striker.

One solution could be Maximilian Philipp who can play the position and Favre has a history of playing with a “false 9”. Could or should Dortmund play this season with Philipp as their striker?
