Borussia Dortmund’s coaching search is picking up steam. Yesterday several outlets claimed Lucien Favre would be the coach of the black and yellows next season and to be honest that is probably true but that doesn’t keep other rumors from surfacing.
One of them comes from Sky who claim BVB have contacted André Villas-Boas and his agent but have not formerly made an offer. The former coach of Zenit St. Petersburg, Tottenham, Chelsea and Porto is an interesting choice but at this point it’s likely Dortmund are just keeping their options open in case anything goes wrong with Favre.
Other coaches like Marco Rose from Red Bull Salzburg and Maurizio Sarri have also been mentioned recently but at this point it seems the club has made their choice.
- Bakayoko leaving Chelsea? (Daily Mail)
It’s probably just name-dropping but it’s still interesting. Tiemoué Bakayoko could leave Cheslea after just one disappointing season with the Premier League club and according to the report from the Daily Mail the player is “not averse to the idea” of playing for Dortmund. The central midfielder joined Chelsea last summer from Monaco for 40€ million and would probably cost the same amount this summer. While it seems somewhat possible that he’ll leave the club, especially if Conte stays, it’s still unlikely that BVB would be the destination.
Daily Buzz: Most BVB fans are still torn on Favre as the new coach, what would you think about Villas-Boas?
