Sokratis is presumably on his way to Arsenal which leaves a hole in BVB’s center of the defense. Dortmund’s search for a replacement has led them to Ajax Amsterdam’s Matthijs de Ligt according to Sport Bild.
The 18-year-old centerback is one of the biggest CB-talents in Europe, with Barcelona, Manchester City, Juventus and AS Roma also interested. Even though that is some tough competition the report claims BVB still have a chance to sign de Ligt, however he probably would not be cheap, rumors suggest Ajax will demand 50€ million for their young star.
Delaney-to-BVB seems very likely at this point, with kicker being the next outlet claiming Dortmund and Delaney have already agreed to a deal. There are however still some problems with the transfer fee. According to the report BVB are currently offering 15€ million while Bremen demand 25€ million.
Delaney himself has commented for the first time on the rumors telling Extrabladet he would be “very interested” to sign with the black and yellows and adding “For me Dortmund is a top-2 club in Germany and one of the top-10 clubs in the World”.
