Borussia Dortmund is looking at a fresh start this summer with significant moves coming in the next few weeks and months. The first moves have already been made, Matthias Sammer and Sebastian Kehl join Miachael Zorc and Hans-Joachim Watzke to hopefully build a new successful team from scratch. Peter Stöger announced that he won’t continue as BVB-coach which opens up the coaching position for Lucien Favre who will probably be announced as BVB’s new head coach when the French Ligue 1 ends Saturday.

But those are not the only changes, the squad will see some major changes and according to WAZ as many as one third of the team would be allowed to leave if a suitable offer came for them. Among those players are Sokratis, Raphael Guerreiro, Nuri Sahin, Gonzalo Castro and André Schürrle. Be prepared for an eventful summer!

It looks like Borussia Dortmund will field a new center of the defense next season. The black and yellows have broken off talks for a new contract with the Greek defender according to Ruhr Nachrichten. Sokratis had an offer for an extension from BVB for months but has so far refused to sign it which means the centerback will most likely leave this summer, Arsenal is rumored to be interested.

  • Rumors, rumors, rumors

Expect a lot of players to be linked to BVB over the next few weeks, the frenzy has already started. Names that keep returning currently are Thomas Delaney, Stephan Lichtsteiner and David Neres but also some more outlandish names like Mario Balotelli and Anthony Martial.
