Borussia Dortmund will make some changes this summer that much is clear, the question is will Sokratis be a part of those changes? The 29-year-old defender isn’t exactly having his best season but according to kicker the club still wants to extend his contract which only runs through 2019. If he refuses to sign an extension, BVB might have to weigh their options and consider selling him this summer. There is definitely no shortage of suitors with Italian outlets claiming Juventus would like to sign him, in addition Manchester United is keen to lure the Greek centerback to the Premier League.

This will be a crucial decision for BVB this offseason, Sokratis hasn’t exactly been great this season but he still can be a great CB. BVB could use the money to invest in the team this summer which will probably see the club make several moves. However selling Sokratis would also create a free spot on Dortmund’s defense which they would have to fill. Toprak has been ok, Akanji has shown some promise and Zagadou is still a young talent that is a solid fourth option but the team would have to add another player at the position.

VfB Stuttgart are looking to possibly extend the loan of Jacob Brunn Larsen. Stuttgart sporting director Michael Reschke commented “He’s a real good player, an intelligent kid with exceptional qualities. We have fun with him. But Borussia Dortmund will have the last word.”

This does come as a bit of a surprise considering Bruun Larsen only appeared in three games for Stuttgart this season. Dortmund will have to decide if a possible extension of the loan is a good ides going forward.

Michy Batshuayi admitted that he had a lot of options during the past transfer window but ultimately thinks joining Borussia Dortmund was the right choice. Furthermore he had this to say: “If you look, you only have to find statements I made at Standard. I was asked, ‘Which clubs do you want to play for during your career?”. I replied: “Marseille and Dortmund.”

Kind words from Batshuayi who really seems to enjoy his time at Dortmund, hopefully BVB and Chelsea can find some sort of agreement to keep him in black and yellow.

Daily Buzz: Should BVB sign Sokratis to an extension or look to rebuild their defense with Akanji and a new player?
