- Sigh
According to kicker Bayern Munich are keeping an eye on Leon Baily (Leverkusen) and Christian Pulisic as potential replacements for Ribéry and Robben once they retire. It’s one of many outlets recently linking Pulisic to the Bavarians but kicker also state that BVB definitely won’t let him go until 2019 because his contract runs until 2020. Zorc and Watzke have to do everything in their power to keep the youngster and possibly extend his contract, losing yet another player to Bayern would be devastating to BVB-fans.
Supposed BVB-target Jonathan Tah talked to Reviersport about his future and if he’ll move this summer. The centerback didn’t reveal if he’ll look to move after the season but he did say Leverkusen will be his first contact. The 21-year-old has a 25€ million release clause in his contract which makes him interesting for BVB and a slew of Premier League clubs and will make it difficult for Leverkusen to hang on to him.
- DFB Cup
Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern Munich, Schalke 04 and Eintracht Frankfurt are the four teams in the semifinals of this years DFB Cup. Frankfurt won 3-0 against Mainz and Schalke escaped with a narrow 1-0 victory over Wolfsburg. The draw for the semifinal match-ups will be this Sunday at 18.00h CET.
- Philipp returns to team training
Maximilian Philipp has returned to team training yesterday and will continue to work on his comeback. It will be several more weeks until he’ll be able to play again but at least this is a good sign.
