  • Will Reus extend?

Marco Reus’ current contract runs out in 2019 and it’s no secret that Dortmund would like the fan favorite to stay longer and possibly retire in black and yellow. According to Sport Bild Hans-Joachim Watzke and Michael Zorc have met with Reus and his agent Dirk Hebel to discuss an extension. The report claims Reus’ priority isn’t money but he wants to know the direction of the club and wait to see who the club will appoint as their next coach. Other factors are qualifying for the Champions League next season and summer signings.

The club needs to do everything in their power to keep it’s best player and face of the club. He’s extremely loyal to his childhood club which is a rare commodity in today’s football world, the club can’t afford to lose a world class player like him.

Andriy Yarmolenko has been injured since January and it might take a long time before we see him back on the pitch. There is no clear timetable for his return and he was seen on crutches during the game on Monday against Augsburg which has led Bild to speculate that he might not be able to return this season. There’s a chance that he’ll return in April but we’ll have to wait and see. Meanwhile Jadon Sancho and Maxi Philipp are already back in training and might soon be able to play again which would help BVB’s depth at winger in the coming weeks.

Daily Buzz: He has only played a few games so far this season but there is a legitimate argument that Reus has been one of BVB’s best players this season (which is kinda sad). Is he the “player of the season” for Dortmund? If not who is?
