BVB are travel to Monchengladbach this weekend as the race for top 4 intensifies. 6 points currently separate 3rd place Borussia Dortmund and 10th place Borrusia Monchengladbach which means every game will be crucial for BVB not just to make even UCL but any European competition at all. Dortmund haven’t lost a match since the Pokal against Bayern and have won their past three games scoring 8 goals in total. Monchengladbach has only taken points once so far in the Ruckrunde, Hopefully BVB will be able to take advantage of the struggling BMG and widen the gap between UCL and Europa placed teams.

With BVB having only just played a game on Thursday we should expect a rotated squad. According to Stoger, Shinji in unavailable and Marcel is doubtful for the match. Hopefully we get to see Reus and Schurrle on the wings who both have been in good form. Our striker,of course, should be Michy Batshuayi who has scored 5 goals in three games for us since his arrival on loan from Chelsea. If he continues his form this game should be a walk in the park. With Kagawa hurt hopefully we get Weigl and Gotze(not pivot-Gotze though) in the midfield. Gotze has been amazing this year and only played limited minutes on Thurdsay so he should be ready to go. Weigl has not been the player he was under Tuchel, but will still be a crucial player and is an upgrade over the struggling Dahoud. For fullbacks we will probably see the pair of Toljan and Piszczek again as we struggle with health at those positions. Toprak will likely start as he has been our best CB so far. Sokratis started on Thursday so I’d expect Akanji or Zagadou, whom received praise from the manager on Friday, to start.

While the fake Borussia is struggling they still are a great side. If Raffael is fit he will cause problems for us with his excellent positioning and finishing. Our defense has still be bottom tier during the Ruckrunde so BMG will get their chances, and Raffeal doesn’t waste many. The other big name is Thorgan Hazard who has 7 goals in 22 games. The younger Hazard brother has shown more and more of the quality his older brother possesses and BVB needs to lock him down. BMG have had a shaky defense this year but there is one player in the back line who has a huge interest in showing us up, Matthais Ginter. Ginter has played very well as a full time center back for BMG. He even has scored 4 goals this year. Hopefully we get the Ginter who played for us last year and not the Ginter from this year.
