It has been a season to forget at Dortmund for Christian Pulisic.
The much-hyped American international has featured sparingly in the Bundesliga and the Champions League. When he has played, he has struggled, amassing only one goal and two assists in 11 appearances in the league.
Now, the 20-year-old could be in for a change of scenery. According to BILD, Chelsea have agreed to a deal with BVB for the transfer of Pulisic this summer.
Bild report that @cpulisic_10 and @ChelseaFC have agreed on a summer transfer. @BVB have also given their OK - if the money is right. #bvb #cfc

Our friend Stefan Buczko makes it seem like the fee hasn’t been agreed on yet, but others have different reports about the BILD story.
German publication Bild are reporting tonight that #cfc have agreed £45m deal to sign Christian #Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund next summer.

£45 million seems like an amount that Dortmund would find acceptable. Pulisic was a phenomenon not long ago, but now his stardom at the Westfalenstadion has been eclipsed by the sensational play of Jadon Sancho. Sancho is two years younger than Pulisic and has a consistency to his play that the American never really nailed down.
It’s not that Pulisic is a lost cause. He is still a very talented player who may go on to be a world class player. But if Chelsea are going to pay that kind of money for him, BVB would be dumb to turn it down considering the players they already have at his position.
Even when he was making inroads at Dortmund, it always seemed like a Premier League transfer for Pulisic was inevitable. His nationality means that he would be a tremendous marketing asset to a team like Chelsea that already has a large following in the United States.
BILD are reliable, but their word isn’t golden. It’s not even January yet, and this would be a summer move. So it’s certainly still possible that a fee isn’t agreed or that the deal falls apart for other reasons.
