Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt have agreed a loan deal until the end of the season for defensive midfielder Sebastian Rode. It has not been made official if the deal contains any sort of option to buy for Frankfurt.
Sebastian Rode will join Eintracht Frankfurt on loan until June 30th, 2019.

The 28-year old never really broke into Dortmund’s squad and played only 22 games for the black and yellows since he arrived from Bayern Munich in 2016. He scored his only goal for Dortmund in a Bundesliga match against Darmstadt 98.
Michael Zorc commented on the move in a short statement:
“We thank Sebastian Rode for his commitment to this day and wish him for his time at Eintracht much health and match practice”.
The midfielder never found his place in the team, partially due to various injuries over the years. The move does not come as a surprise to BVB fans, Rode did not play under Lucien Favre and never made the matchday squad since the Swiss coach has been in charge. As of right now this is just a loan until the end of the season but Borussia Dortmund would certainly not be opposed to make the move a permanent one come summer.
