  • BVB players on international duty

12 players from Borussia Dortmund are on international duty for their national teams. Jadon Sancho and Christian Pulisic might even play against each other when England and the USMNT face off in a friendly on Thursday.

Manuel Akanji was nominated for Switzerland but will stay in Dortmund to recover from his injury as well as Roman Bürki and Abdou Diallo. This hopefully means Lucien Favre has an injury free backline after the break.

The DFB has also announced that Marco Reus has missed the first training session with the national team because of a bruise. However he is expected back in training soon.

  • Speaking of injury free backline...

Marcel Schmelzer is on his way back and will probably be ready once the Bundesliga resumes. The left back posted a video on instagram showing him back in training with the caption: “Still by myself but finally back on the pitch in football shoes and with the ball!”

  • BVB interested in Pedrinho?

Brazilian winger Pedrinho from Corinthians Sao Paolo is on Borussia Dortmund’s radar. According to Yahoo BVB have already agreed a deal with Pedrinho and have to pay 25€ million for the right winger. This could be an indication of Christian Pulisic’s future who might leave Dortmund next summer if he does not extend his contract.

As always transfer rumors will come up during an international and this one is no different. Nevertheless it is possible that Dortmund will have to look for Pulisic-replacement soon.

Daily Buzz: BVB have played an amazing season so far but are they really the favorites to win it all now? Let’s take a look at the table and discuss who the main competition is.

First of all one thing seems clear we actually have a title race in the Bundesliga. Bayern Munich is down right now but they will surely strike back, especially once their injured players come back. I’m gonna go on a limb here and predict they won’t finish in 5th place. But apart from the Bavarians who do you think can hang on in the title race? Do Gladbach, Leipzig and Frankfurt really have a chance?
