  • Pulisic nominated for Kopa Trophy

Christian Pulisic has been nominated as one of 10 players for the newly established Kopa Trophy. The trophy is the counterpart to the Ballon d‘Or but for players under 21 years of age. It’s quite an honor for Pulisic to be considered one of the best in the world under 21. However it is incredibly unlikely that he’ll win considering the season Kylian Mbappé had with the World Cup win being the crowning achievement.

  • Hakimi, rookie of the month?

Achraf Hakimi had a great start to the season and is already showing that he can replace Lukasz Piszczek as the starter at right back. Now you can help to make him the Bundesliga rookie of the month for September. The link for the vote is in the tweet below.

  • Bürki leaves Swiss national team

Roman Bürki has left the Swiss national team because of a hip injury. Dortmund’s starting goalkeeper will not participate in their coming games and will rehab the injury and hopefully be healthy again when Borussia Dortmund resume the Bundesliga against VfB Stuttgart.

This means a total of eleven players will be with their national teams this international break. This actually means a solid number of players will still be in training for BVB and for their upcoming friendly next week against Alemania Aachen on October 15th.

Markus Weinzierl will presumably be VfB Stuttgart’s next coach and replace Tayfun Korkut who has been the first Bundesliga coach to be sacked in the 2018/19 season. Weinzierl has previously coached FC Augsburg and Schalke 04 in the Bundesliga. According to kicker both former BVB-coaches Peter Bosz and Peter Stöger were also contacted by Stuttgart.
