Every once in a while, a moment in a football match takes your breath away. Today, Paco Alcacer provided one of those moments. With three points on the line and time running out, Dortmund drew a foul several yards from the 18-yard line, and Raphael Guerreiro and Paco Alcacer lined up behind the ball. I don’t think anyone doubted who was going to take it. While Guerreiro may have had a slightly better angle on his left foot, Paco was on a hat trick. He tugged at his socks, just like former Barcelona protégé Lionel Messi would, stepped forward, and did this:
PACO ALCACER! INCREDIBLE!

The new signing wins it for Dortmund in stoppage time to seal his hat trick. An unbelievable finish to an unbelievable game. pic.twitter.com/WAnkKmojAz
The Borussia Dortmund players went crazy. The Westfalenstadion went crazy. Twitter went crazy. Our match thread went crazy. My brother and I went crazy. Paco completed his hat trick, and did what Bayern Munich had been unable to do only a couple weeks ago: overcome a last minute Augsburg equalizer to collect a win.
Maybe this is our year after all?
