  • Matchday 8

Aside from Dortmund continuing to look amazing, a lot went on during matchday 8 in the Bundesliga. For starters, Schalke are still in the relegation zone after losing to 3rd place Werder. Bremen has shown so far they are no fluke, scoring multiple goals almost every game and keeping a strong defensive record. Dortmund other competition at the top of the table Monchengladbach scored 4 goals against Mainz, whom had the best defense in the league before this blowout. After years of both Werder and BMG underachieving, it is a good sign for the Bundesliga the other-rans are competing.

The other game of note this weekend is of course Frankfurts 7-1 drubbing of Fortuna Dussedorf. Frankfurt Striker Luka Jovic shows he is the real deal as he scored 5 of Frankfurts goals on Friday. Poor Dusseldorf really seem to be a up and down club this year as they sit on 5 points after 8 games.
