  • BVB return home

Borussia Dortmund have decided to return home a day earlier than expected. Several players are out with a stomach flu and can’t train and the pitches in Marbella are in a bad shape because of the rain.

Hopefully at least some of the players will be able to play against Wolfsburg on Sunday. The left back position is especially precarious, Marcel Schmelzer called a possible appearance on Sunday “very unlikely” and it’s still unclear if Raphael Guerreiro can play. Peter Stöger could still use Jeremy Toljan on the left side which seems likely at this point. Erik Durm is an option but would be a risk considering that he just returned from injury.

The goalkeeper-situation is similar, Roman Bürki, Roman Weidenfeller and Dominik Reimann all had to sit out the friendly against Zulte Waregem yesterday. The situation was so bad, the club had to fly in both U23 keepers, Eike Bansen and Jan Reckert, so they could play. If none of the players are ready come Sunday, we might see the 19-year-old Bansen as the starting goalkeeper.

  • No China-offer for Auba?

Just a couple days ago reports surfaced claiming two Chinese teams were in a bidding war for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Now one of those clubs, Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao, has officially denied making any offers to Dortmund for the star striker.
