Aubameyang in London for transfer to Arsenal, Michy Batshuayi to Dortmund depends on Olivier Giroud’s move to Chelsea

It’s transfer madness!

There’s a football season going on, but right now the transfer window has taken center stage. And what a crazy window it has been.

Here is the latest update on all the insanity. It comes courtesy of BBC’s David Ornstein, who is well sourced at both Arsenal and Chelsea.

One thing seems to be certain, that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will move to Arsenal. He was seen traveling to London with his family, and will have a medical there tomorrow. Dortmund have said they will only sell if they find a replacement, but would they really call the deal off this late into the process if Michy Batshuayi isn’t coming to BVB?

Batshuayi has struggled during his time at Chelsea, and they clearly want to replace him with a bigger striker who can jump and get his head on the ball during an attack. The Belgian would be a great addition for Dortmund, even if he’s only on a loan. He reportedly wants to come to BVB too.

But if Giroud doesn’t go to Chelsea, this could all be pulled off the table. All three of these teams have left their business until the end of the window. What we’re left with now is this insane transfer merry-go-round that has been spinning for a week now and hasn’t stopped to let anyone get off the ride.

It’s unclear if Dortmund have a back-up plan in the event that Chelsea don’t let Batshuayi come. There is still a dogfight ahead for the top four in the Bundesliga. BVB will need someone to come in and replace at least some of the goals that will travel with Aubameyang to North London.

The deadline closes in England tomorrow night, while the deadline in Europe is the following day. This will all be resolved soon, but don’t be surprised if there are a few more plot twists before that resolution comes.
