- Olivier Giroud won’t be moving to BVB
The future of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is still uncertain, but at least one part of that transfer story has now been tied up. Olivier Giroud was rumored to be coming to Dortmund on loan as part of a deal with Arsenal for Aubameyang. That now doesn’t appear to be the case.

Sky Sports say that Giroud is staying at Arsenal. It’s unclear how that will affect a possible Aubameyang transfer, but the latest news on that front is that negotiations between BVB and the Gunners have stalled.
- Is Manuel Akanji set for his Dortmund debut?
Peter Stöger’s defense is about to get a sizable reinforcement. Manuel Akanji has only just joined officially from FC Basel, but now could be about to make his first apperance for Dortmund.
He features on the program ahead of the Freiburg match.

Akanji was on the bench for last week’s game with Hertha Berlin, but he did not feature. He was seen being coached up pretty heavily by Roman Weidenfeller on the bench.
The Swiss international will need time to adapt, but should ultimately thrive in the Bundesliga. He looks to be quite a talent.
