Borussia Dortmund have officially announced that Jacob Brunn Larsen will join VfB Stuttgart on loan until the end of the season. The loan-deal won’t include any option to buy or extend the loan when it ends this summer.
Bruun Larsen is talented but had some injury issues that threw him back at crucial points this season. As a result he missed his chance to establish himself as an option in the squad, playing only 7 minutes in the Bundesliga against Hamburg on matchday 5.
The 19-year-old Danish international can play both winger and fullback positions and will look to get some minutes in a VfB Stuttgart side that is talented but is currently battling relegation, sitting in 14th place in the table just four points clear of the relegation zone.
The move makes sense for all sides, Dortmund can see how one of their youngsters develops with a solid team, Bruun Larsen can get some minutes in the Bundesliga and ex-BVB coach Hannes Wolf adds a talented and versatile young player to his squad.
Bruun Larsen joins Dzenis Burnic as the second Dortmund player on loan in Stuttgart.
